Moving Sale: Vintage Lot

Hi Vintage Swappers, I hope it is OK to post this here. We are moving! I had big plans to sell all of this individually on Etsy, but between preparing for another baby and moving, I'll have to pick and choose my projects.

I've posted an ad on my local kijiji but I'm happy to mail it to interested recipient.

These are the items in this 1960's Baby Girl lot:
15 dresses/ dress-blouse, some with matching diaper covers
2 knit cardigans
2 tops
5 flannel newborn gowns (tie at the back)
7 under t-shirts (some light staining, and possible repairs on some. I was planning on dying these tie dye)
4 summer jump suits (2 of them are terry cloth)
3 pairs of knit booties
2 knit bonnets
1 white knit blanket ( I was planning on turning this into a poncho)
1 flannel blanket (adorable 60's pastel pattern)
1 lace bonnet
1 bib
1 pair of white tie-up first walking shoes/baby shoes
1 unused Baby record book in excellent condition!

Photos from the last few days.

There was a huge full moon last Friday (Feb. 18).

Gingerbread Antiques (Sandy UT on 700 east and 8800 southish)

Has the best selection of yarn in SLC and great antiques and vintage jewels, buttons and such.

(This is also where I have my knit class).

My teacher Nadine, host a knit circle there every Thursday and Saturday from 11 to 3.
There I have met a few regulars (89 -37 in age) who all share their knowledge and stories and love of croquet and knitting.
It's just like the quilting bee's of yourn!

Made a new friend--plus making amends

Hi there, lovers of all things vintage! Long time no see.

Last summer, I was lucky enough to be paired with Perches in the most recent Vintage Swap. I'm happy to report that I've also made a new friend, and yesterday she kindly showed me around her town and her favorite shops.

I just posted about our outing here, and she shared her experience (and finds!) here.

I'm still swooning over these vintage puzzle balls we spotted.

Also, although I did post (belatedly) about the lovely things perches sent me last summer in the recent swap, I never did manage to come back here to post a link--so I'm making amends by sharing that here.

Our Vintage Elf on The Shelf and a Contest!

I love the idea of the Elf on The Shelf. Instead of buying one that everyone else has I thought I could we could use a vintage elf that I found thrifting over the summer. He leaves at night to travel up to the North Pole to give report to Santa of what's happening in our house. How does he get there Violet asks? I said he flies, but she quickly noticed he did not have any wings. What do you think of our Elf and what story can you think of to explain how he travels back and forth to the North Pole? Now that I know that Mary has received her package, I can share what it is that I sent to her.

I have a really hard time parting with fabric.

Like a REALLY hard time.

But I like Mary...and so I gave her a length of some of my favorites.

No fear though...I kept some for myself as well.

And then there was this pattern. I fell in love with it the moment that I saw it at the thrift store. SO darling.

And finally, I sent off a few adorable children's vintage story books. I have read them several times and never seem to tire of the innocence of vintage stories.

Vintage Swap Goodness In Action!

Yeah for Vintage Swap!
I am so delighted with the lovely vintage-ness sent to me by my swap partner Shell at shellplease.blogspot.com .

The sheets will make great cozy pants for Spring.
After making my daughter Freya half a dozen pair of cozies last week, I think I will indulge myself and make some for me.

Shell also sent me awesome buttons that I had to use immediately!

The dress is Oliver + S Puppet Dress pattern.

The buttons look like yummy candy.
I kept thinking about licking them.
Is that too weird to admit?

Thank you to my swap partner for her very generosity with these vintage items! She out did herself for sure.

I am smitten with the buttons. I have been looking for good quality buttons for some time now and low and behold they came strait to my door. There are a few gems in the button jar.

I have already used a few things! Bias tape for a new curtain and a new pillowcase to cover my sewing machine. I think the daisy print on the top of the pile is going to be a skirt for my niece.

I purchased this awesome tin medicine cabinet from the antique store where I worked before my children were born.

Everything about it is beautiful.
The crackling, rusty patina, the blackening mirrors and pistachio green paint inside.
It fits in the little nook above my kitchen sink perfectly.

With its little hooks underneath to hold scouring brushes, I almost believe it was specifically made to live above my kitchen sink.

I am so excited that spring is finally popping its head from underneath the snow and grey.
I want to share my excitement by giving away this cute bundle of happy and bright fat quarters.

This is very exciting stuff....today we received and opened our parcel from Emma!

We enjoyed looking carefully at each item, and noted how obvious it was that every part was chosen exactly for us.

I will have to make a one size fits both dress from that lovely pillowcase, so both of my dollies can take turns wearing it!!! The lovely ribbon will no doubt be used in this project!

Thanks so very much to Emma, for her painstaking attention to detail...and to Heather for bringing such a fun event to us all.

drawstring bags from vintage sheets

I LOVE the look of vintage sheets! So soft and pretty! I have the habit of buying them without purpose until I finally came up with an idea..........

Little drawstring bags! I used the tutorial from Skip to My Lou to learn how to make the bags, being a beginner with the machine I find these super easy to make. Now I use them to wrap up my sales from my etsy shop!
